O Luís Henrique Mesquita iniciou, neste ano letivo, o seu percurso académico no Diploma Dual. Frequenta atualmente o oitavo ano e tem pela sua frente quatro anos como estudante do projeto, que culminarão com a obtenção da equivalência internacional ao High School dos Estados Unidos da América.
Prevêem-se quatro anos de imersão linguística, tecnológica e pessoal; bem como uma experiência única com muitas mais-valias para o seu futuro.
De seguida ficamos a conhecer as suas expectativas e a sua motivação para ter escolhido embarcar neste novo desafio.
1 – Como ficaste a saber do Diploma Dual?
Eu fiquei a saber do Projeto Dual pelos meus pais, pois foram eles que me incentivaram a inscrever-me.
2 – Qual foi a tua motivação para te inscreveres?
Achei que este projeto seria uma oportunidade única de melhorar o meu nível de inglês e que me pode ajudar a alcançar alguns dos meus objetivos.
3 – Quais são as tuas expectativas em relação ao programa?
Tenho muitas expectativas. Acho que vou realizar várias atividades, bem como trabalhos divertidos, que me vão ajudar a melhorar muito o meu inglês, além de me ajudarem muito no futuro.
4 – Qual é o teu maior receio em relação ao programa?
Preocupa-me o início, que vai ser o tempo de adaptação, mas depois acho que vai ser desafiante e divertido.
5 – O formato online deste programa é bastante diferente daquele a que estás habituado. Quais achas que serão as vantagens e os desafios de estudar online?
É um pouco diferente, mas acho que vai correr bem. Isto porque irei trabalhar a partir de casa onde tenho tudo à mão.
6 – Há alguma disciplina que aches que vá ser particularmente interessante ou desafiadora? Qual e porquê?
Acho que vou gostar da disciplina de História dos Estados Unidos, pois será interessante conhecer melhor a história de um dos países mais desenvolvidos do mundo e de um país onde gostaria de trabalhar um dia.
7 – Como é que esperas que o programa te ajude a melhorar a tua proficiência na língua inglesa?
Os professores vão ensinar-nos, mas só pelo facto de termos de fazer tudo em inglês, vamo-nos habituar à língua e, sem darmos por isso, iremos melhorar muito o nosso conhecimento do inglês.
8 – Estudar online requer autodisciplina e uma boa gestão do tempo. Como descreves a tua abordagem para te manteres organizado e motivado para estudares online?
Isso vai depender do meu esforço. Porém, eu planeio organizar-me e focar-me nas tarefas que tenho para fazer. Este foco acabará por me motivar, bem como pensar que este diploma me vai ajudar no futuro.
9 – Qual achas que é a mais-valia de ter este diploma?
Este diploma será uma mais-valia no meu currículo, aumentando as probabilidades de ter um bom futuro profissional.
10 – Quais são os teus planos para o futuro e em que esperas que o Diploma Dual te vá ser útil?
Eu gostava de trabalhar nos Estados Unidos da América, na NASA. Porém, para isso, preciso de saber falar bem em inglês. Também gostava de estudar lá e, com este diploma, será mais fácil alcançar esse objetivo.

Dual Diploma – Interview with Luís Henrique Mesquita
This school year, Luís Henrique Mesquita began his academic journey with the Dual Diploma. He is currently in the eighth grade and has four years ahead of him as a student of the project, which will culminate with obtaining the international equivalence of the North American High School.
Four years of linguistic, technological, and personal immersion are planned; as well as a unique experience with a lot of added value to his future.
Let’s find out about his expectations and motivation for choosing to embark on this new challenge.
1 – How did you find out about the Dual Diploma?
I found out about the Dual Project from my parents, as they were the ones who encouraged me to enroll.
2 – What was your motivation for enrolling?
I thought that this project was a unique opportunity to improve my level of English and that it can help me achieve some of my goals.
3 – What are your expectations regarding the program?
I have many expectations. I think I will take part in several activities, as well as fun assignments, that will help me improve my English a lot, as well as helping me a great deal in the future.
4 – What is your biggest fear about the program?
I’m worried about the beginning, as it will be the time to adapt, but then I think it will be challenging and funny.
5 – The online format of this program is quite different from what you are used to. What do you think will be the advantages and challenges of studying online?
It’s a little different, but I think it will go well. This is because I will work from home where I have everything at hand.
6 – Is there any subject that you think will be particularly interesting or challenging? Which and why?
I think I will enjoy the United States History subject, as it will be interesting to learn more about the history of one of the most developed countries in the world and a country where I would like to work one day.
7 – How do you expect the program to help you improve your English language proficiency?
The teachers will teach us, but just because we have to do everything in English, we will get used to the language and, without realizing it, we will greatly improve our knowledge of English.
8 – Studying online requires self-discipline and good time management. How would you describe your approach to staying organized and motivated to study online?
This will depend on my effort. However, I plan to organize myself and focus on the tasks at hand. This focus will end up motivating me, as well as thinking that this certificate will help me in the future.
9 – What do you think is the added value of having this diploma?
This diploma will be added value on my Curriculum Vitae, increasing my chances of having a good professional future.
10 – What are your plans for the future and how do you hope the Dual Diploma will be useful to you?
I would like to work in the United States of America, at NASA. However, to do this, I need to know how to speak English well. I would also like to study there and, with this diploma, it will be easier to achieve that goal.
